MISSION
Our mission is to create outdoor classrooms in order to reconnect students to nature and their community by rehabilitating the endangered monarch butterfly population.
We believe that community development through conservation can reconnect people to our natural environment. Volunteerism, donations, time and energy are vital to empowering our young people to create a voice for themselves and their environment. Our purpose is to reconnect with nature. Technology is a tool for learning, not the focus of learning. Information should be used to strengthen our connection to the environment, not eliminate it. By creating outdoor learning spaces within the community, we can preserve our environment for future generations.

WHO WE ARE
ERIC REJMAN - CONSERVATION ARTIST
I am an artist armed with a background in cultural anthropology whose career led to filming with the National Park Service. As a result of working with the National Park Service, I won “Best Environmental Documentary” at the Canada International Film Festival. Through this experience, I’ve developed a keen sense of nature conversation and understanding the role of art and science to create a voice for nature.
Steve Driscoll - teacher
I am an eleven-year veteran middle school reading teacher and believe in conservation education. A classroom project led to my 8th graders receiving substantial grant money given to build a garden six years ago. Alongside mentorship from Northwestern University, our garden and school “Green Team” was established. Our garden has continued to evolve and summer programs have also included cooking and pickling workshops with local restaurants and kitchens.
Marlena mosbacher - graduate student
I am an occupational therapist in the making; my greatest passion is empowering others to achieve maximum satisfaction from their lives. Having an educational background in two unique disciplines, zoology and history of art, I've been inspired to have profound respect for the vastness of our world and the infinite beauty that exists within it. Equally influenced by being one of few Latina women in my Appalachian Ohio hometown during my youth, I am also highly conscious of the importance of diversity and the need for inclusiveness. Equipped with a compassionate soul, scientific mind, and creative spirit, I aspire to be both a skilled healer and an advocate for a just society.
